At ERM Rent a Car, the Ercan Airport vehicle delivery process begins before our customer even arrives in Cyprus. The contract and pre-delivery vehicle inspection are prepared, as much as possible, before you arrive. The vehicle's photos, mileage, fuel level, and any existing damage are recorded. During delivery, your driving licence details are verified, any existing damage is shown to you, and you may record the vehicle's condition on your own phone. Once the contract terms are reviewed and payment is completed, the vehicle is delivered. Under normal operating conditions, the meet-and-deliver process takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

A change in your arrival time at Ercan does not mean your reservation is automatically cancelled. If your flight details are on file with our reservation team, your arrival time is tracked; when necessary, our field team also checks the latest flight information.

The daily field schedule is prepared one day in advance. For night and early-morning flights, staff and vehicle planning is arranged around your reservation time. It helps us update your delivery plan to the correct time if you let us know before boarding and after landing.

In ERM's field operations, there are real examples of delivery plans being rearranged to match a new landing time even after a delay of several hours. Our goal is not to leave you without a vehicle because of a change to your flight time.

Before delivery, the vehicle's current condition, mileage, and fuel level are recorded. If there is any existing damage, it is shown to our customer, who may also record the vehicle's condition on their own phone. This practice helps make clear to both parties the condition in which the vehicle was delivered.

Under the fuel policy, the vehicle is expected to be returned at a fuel level close to the one at delivery.

ERM Rent a Car vehicles are fully insured (comprehensive cover). In the event of an accident or damage, the customer's liability is assessed according to the rental contract and insurance terms; where applicable, the maximum deductible is 10,000 TL. In the event of an accident, it is important that the necessary official procedures and police report process are completed.

One day before your return date, our reservation team contacts you to share the location of the ERM vehicle delivery/return point near Ercan Airport and the contact details of the staff member who will collect the vehicle.

At the return point, the vehicle's exterior condition and fuel level are checked. Once this is complete, we drop you off, together with your luggage, in front of the Ercan Airport departures terminal.

Under normal conditions, the vehicle check and transfer to the terminal can take around 10 minutes or less. We recommend being at the return point approximately two hours before your return flight.

Ercan Airport is a central starting point for travelling by car to different regions of North Cyprus. According to official North Cyprus transport data, Ercan Airport is 23 km from Nicosia, 44 km from Kyrenia, and 50 km from Famagusta.

Based on ERM's field experience, under normal traffic on a suitable route, travel to Nicosia takes approximately 25 minutes, to Kyrenia approximately 30-35 minutes, and to Famagusta approximately 40-45 minutes.

Traffic, roadworks, and the route chosen by navigation may change these times. It is helpful to check your route before setting off and to allow extra time during busy hours.

Traffic in North Cyprus drives on the left. It is normal for visitors driving in this traffic pattern for the first time to need a short adjustment period at the start.

During vehicle delivery, our field team can explain the vehicle's basic operation and points to be aware of in local traffic; further guidance can be provided where appropriate. A vehicle will not be delivered to a driver who is not judged capable of safe use.

Our contact with you doesn't end once the vehicle is delivered. Throughout your rental, you can reach our reservation and operations team 24/7. In the event of a mechanical, battery, tyre, or other operational need, the situation is assessed and the necessary guidance and support are provided. Financial responsibility for some services or parts may vary depending on the nature of the incident and the rental contract.
