Esentepe does not mean one arrival point
The municipality describes Esentepe as a settlement east of Kyrenia associated with the foothills of the Beşparmak mountains. The village centre, coastal accommodation and holiday homes marketed in different settlements do not share one starting point. Describing an address in Bahçeli or another village only as “the Esentepe area” can leave delivery and daily transport plans unclear.
Ask for the full address and map location before booking. Check the entrance gate, whether there is reception and how keys are handed over. A short line on a map does not show whether pavements, lighting and slopes make a walk suitable for you. If a shop or restaurant is described as “nearby”, clarify which mode of transport that assumes.
List the journeys you will repeat during your holiday
| Need | Clarify first | How does it affect the plan? |
|---|---|---|
| Daily shopping and meals | Walkable options, delivery services and accommodation facilities. | Shows whether frequent trips out are needed. |
| Exploring central Kyrenia | One comprehensive day or several short visits? | May reduce the need to repeat the same journey. |
| Beach or sports plans | Exact location, start time and included transfers. | May create a separate transport need from sightseeing. |
| Dinner | Return options and plans for alcohol. | Determines whether the outward travel method also suits the return. |
Consider this list alongside the number of people staying with you. A quick grocery trip for one person may not use the same option as a journey with children, suitcases and equipment. If included shuttles or arranged transfers meet your needs, hiring a car is not automatically necessary.
Group Kyrenia visits into one day in the centre
Instead of travelling in and out of Kyrenia several times for the castle, museum, harbour and meals, use the one-day central route as your starting point. Once in the centre, parking somewhere suitable and continuing on foot reduces the need to drive again for every stop. Check parking suitability on arrival; a starting point in a guide does not guarantee a space.
If adding shopping or another appointment, consider what you will carry and opening arrangements. Leave time for drinks and meal breaks. Extending the day into an evening programme without planning the return can require extra transport, especially if members of the group want to leave at different times.
Treat Alagadi, golf and cultural visits as separate needs
Alagadi requires you to first choose between a daytime beach visit and an approved observation activity. The type of programme changes your return time and preparation. A Çatalköy visit is also separate from your Esentepe accommodation; being on the same eastern corridor does not mean every stop must be added to one day.
If planning golf at Korineum, ask the business about tee-time bookings, equipment needs and transfers in your package. Playing with hired clubs and carrying your own golf bag create different luggage needs. If interested in wall paintings and historic buildings, research Antifonitis as a separate cultural visit; confirm the museum's current visiting days and access conditions before setting out.
Make your delivery request specific with the address and days of use
After identifying the days you need a car, state passenger numbers, suitcases and special equipment. Requesting a car for the whole holiday differs from using one only on particular days; the actual rental period and delivery conditions must be confirmed separately. Planning a one-day outing does not mean a one-day rental is offered.
Your information to ERM can be brief: accommodation name and full address, entrance-gate location, date range, collection time and numbers of people and belongings. Use the hotel or address delivery guide's process to check the service area and any delivery fee. If dinner includes alcohol, establish whether walking is suitable or arrange a taxi or transfer beforehand; do not plan to drive for that journey.
